Strange Problem
Hi Everyone!
To all those techy people out there HELP ME!!! please?
Just recently (not really sure when it started) I have been having problems with my character on GW (Factions,Prophicies & Nightfall), not that this problem detracts from gameplay from what I can make out.
The problem is, all my characters are warriors and have Swords Axes and Hammers, But when in battle what ever weapon my guy has he will attack as if using a bow, which looks a bit odd when you have a fireyDragon Sword and a shield!
I have been in touch with the thechie bods at plaync but just wondered if any one on here had any light to shed on this matter.
Thanks for reading this ( if you made it to the end without falling asleep)

Money on a coruppted .dat file. It should be around 3.75Gb above 4.25 is bad.
If this is the case renameit to gw.dat.old. then run the -image over night. this should solve the problem. If you have a install cd/dvd of nightfall or newer it will take less time than redownloading it.

To best answer your question, I want to explain what is the"guildwars" on your computer. Stored on your computer is sounds and the world(backgrounds, sky, terrain, basic charecter models and NPC models).
Stored on the guild wars server is all you acoplishments, your armors, your weapons, your gold. This makes it impossible to hack into the cleint side software and cheat, buy adding in text that gives you things you do not have.
This is why you can log onto any computer that has an internet connection and the gw client installed and play on your account.
I will never ask you to do something (or will any other technician(that why our name is green) that will cause irreputable damage to your equipment or game.
In short no, nothing will be lost.

Thank you very much for your patience with me on this matter. ONE final question. I have looked at the dat file in the GW folder on my HD, would the following cause the problem I am having, I installed Nero7 and it has changed the file assosiation for the data file, the file type is Video Cd movie. should I try removing the Nero program and then running GW ?
|
Nero does that. It does not however cause any conflicts. I also use nero7. It did the same to my .dat file.

Thank you very much for your help in this matter, everthing is now running ok and back to normal.
